SJ-Mail Email Client
v0.8.0
A Windows / macOS desktop and Android mobile email client built for heavy mail users. Messages and credentials are stored locally with encryption, and the built-in SJ-AI assistant can search, summarize, draft, translate, and analyze attachments — every sensitive action goes through your approval. v0.8.0 adds VIP contacts (client / leader / colleague / family relationship tagging, automatic inbound recognition, AI profiles built and refreshed on a schedule, pre-send spelling / attachment / sensitive-info checks), a Contacts Hub redesign (standalone window, three-way concurrent global search, cross-account address-book dedup, contact groups), and large-list virtualization (thousands of emails scroll smoothly); v0.7.x capabilities — read tracking, replied/forwarded flags, the unified address book — all remain available.

v0.8.0 Release Notes
VIP contacts, Contacts Hub redesign, large-list virtualization, all-new brand — extending AI from "reading mail" to "maintaining relationships"
- VIP (important) contacts (headline, v0.8.0): tag contacts as client / leader / colleague / family / custom from contact details, org directory, or the reading pane; inbound mail from VIPs is auto-flagged on arrival; marking a contact auto-builds an AI profile with scheduled refresh (four-condition scheduling + quota + 429 backoff, globally toggleable); before sending to a VIP, AI checks spelling / attachments / sensitive information (protocol v3.14, tone judged by relationship), fail can block, offline local rules apply, and nothing ever silently passes.
- Contacts Hub redesign (v0.8.0): a standalone-window contact hub (scoped read-only embedded view in the main window); three-way concurrent global search across local + org + VIP (VIP pinned ⭐); unified personal address book (local namespace) deduplicated across accounts; contact groups with left-groups-right-members layout and column-width drag; split-button "new contact" with "pick from directory" prefill.
- Large-list virtualization (v0.8.0): virtual scrolling for the mail list (a 4,351-row DOM shrinks to the viewport subset, with a full-render fallback switch); contact list virtualization in list view; sticky single date-group header with rAF throttling; selection follows scrolling across groups (j/k navigation); rAF-throttled column-width dragging.
- Full UI polish pass (v0.8.0): all P1-P3 issues from four external design-review rounds fixed; mail area reorganized (search into the folder bar / select-all merged into the count row / 200-selection cap); richer hover preview (recipients / relative dates / replied-forwarded badges / local long summary); body width adapts to the viewport (clamp 720px-1100px) with fixed-width legacy-mail cleanup; second-generation brand icons and wordmark rolled out everywhere.
- Enterprise push stability (v0.8.0, four fixes): a 50s read_timeout on EVIM long-polling so black-dead connections after network loss / sleep no longer freeze push; reconnect re-reads device_key / access_token; push_mailchange syncs read/star state of existing mail; token expiry (12008) pops a re-auth guide and MFA can be re-entered.
- Send & sync hardening (v0.8.0): oversize attachments are preflighted before queueing and classified as permanent failures (ending retry-storm CPU burn); background-sync badge residue fixed; unread counts unified to the server-side definition; draft-list jump-to-bottom fixed; signature / empty-draft root cause fixed; opening uncached bodies offline no longer flashes a red error.
- Everything in v0.7.x remains available: sj-track read tracking, replied/forwarded flags, unified address book, first-run AI onboarding, full security hardening, self-service API key reset, and more.
- Windows x86-64 v0.8.0 officially released (code-signed); macOS v0.8.0 on both channels (Intel / Apple Silicon); Windows ARM64 latest is v0.7.6 (v0.8.0 package coming soon); Android latest is v0.7.7

🌐 Network
Core features — sending/receiving mail, local search, offline reading — do not depend on the AI service and work offline.
AI features (chat / compose / translate / summarize / briefing) require an internet connection to the SJ-AI Server.
🔐 Security
Account passwords and AI keys are stored locally encrypted with AES-256-GCM; mail HTML is sanitized before rendering.
